i take 'snapshots' - no studio lighting and settings... no planned shoots or models... the shot just happens... with and wherever it may be taken... in or out of focus... i 'feel' whether it works for me. i have a no-client policy of sorts... i will take on assignments... on my terms (which will be the healthy option for everyone involved!)... if u dont like it hire a professional 'knipser'... i have seen professional photographers, especially in fashion, bite their tongues... instead of smacking some arty farty fashion editor... my work has never sold... i have never tried to sell! never say never!

i am planning an exhibition, my first... in october, in germany... location still pending... somewhere where money hangs around... my intention is to sell my work for the first time... for real money. some of this cash will go into my ccc -cape culture club mission - helping people help themselves... financing 'living community' projects in south africa. creating opportunities, empowering the people.

i started taking shots with my father's str 101(?) minolta... in the 60's... progressed to a half decent nikon in the eighties... and sticked with it till the late 90's... another nikon ... and an old voigtlaender bessamatic... took a 10 year break... cause i could not afford a decent digital... 4 weeks ago i decided to get a 'system' camera... a little one the sony nex5... i walked out of foto bauer in bad duerkheim with a nex7 plus adaptors, 32gb cards... eye-fi(?)... ect. thank u to tobias and his father for their wonderful and professional support! i almost live in that store...

when i got home i started sorting my analog shots of 4 decades! i loved some so much i thought i should share them... in an exhibition... just removing the dust, but leaving the scratches... these negatives have been in boxes, containers... on planes... ships and damp cellars of ex-girlfriends for ... years... my photos are just spontanious moments... no technical 'thought' or planned after effects...
