Their are many woodpeckes in Arkansas. The Pilated Woodpecker likes dense forrest to live in. I am to close to the city to see many of them. If you travel west from Little Rock you will find the Ozark National Forest and the Ouachita National Forest which reaches into Oklahoma. Their is a large population of the bird. Akkansas is blessed with an abundance of wild life of all types. We call it the Natural State. Come on down and bring your camera. You will find plenty to photograph.
