The Middle Ages (68) : Court Jester

This series is an attempt to illustrate how life was going on in the Middle Ages.

Each castle had a court jester, whose unrewarding task it was to please and entertain the Lord and Lady of the castle.
If his performance was weak and moderate, he could end up in the dungeon.....

The colourful court jester in my shot was also an extremely talented bagpiper !

i guess a second talent – being an excellent bag piper! – comes in handy. and who knows, one day, when his jests are lame and the king not amused, a quick tune on his bag pipe might save him from ending up on the gallows… ; ) great capture once again, mark! the dopey look created by the make-up is making me smile! greetings, sabine.
