A More Intimate Holiday Season Light Show - a New York Moment
Fifth Avenue on a nippy Sunday night in December…
In a few minutes the façade of Saks Fifth Avenue’s flagship store across the
street will once again (fully) erupt – into a pageant of holiday lights and music. (*)
But that leaves some time for a more intimate light show, as sparkly LED
light balloons dance above the seller and one of her littlest customers,
and some other glittery items add to the holiday glow along the
famous thoroughfare in Midtown Manhattan.

P.S. The photographer hopes you don't find him too remiss in omitting all those magical sparkly
colors - I promise to present them on some cloudy, gray rainy day - but I found myself very much
liking how the holiday season festiveness had its own special life in classic black and white. It reminds
me of motion pictures set in New York from an era predating LED light balloons and sparkly thingies ;-)

The dark human figures, but faces atop bundled up bodies, are a good contrast to all of the holiday lights. This is a good street image.Regards, Archie
