a Towpath Moment - No. 2
The C&O Canal runs alongside the Potomac River, northwestward from Washington D.C. to Cumberland, Maryland.
Its placid waters served barge and canal boat commerce from 1831 to 1924.
The canal towpath, here in Georgetown, seems worlds apart from the bustling traffic so close by, and
was an ideal spot for walking, relaxing, and photography in the golden sunlight of an autumn afternoon.
Apparently, the man on the bridge thought it safer to carry his bike than try riding it over the rough-hewn plankwork.
The moment was captured on AgfaPan APX-25 film.

In Germany there is a saying (for cars): "Wer sein Auto liebt, der schiebt".In the U.S. it´s obviously "A beloved bike has to be carried" ;-).
But it´s a lovely, silent scene in an enjoyable b/w treatment you present with this picture, Steve.
