The Hay Adams

Imagine a stirring theme by Jerry Fielding (*), as a shiny black limo glides under the portico. Out steps
Walter Pidgeon in evening attire, looking, well, as a Senator is supposed to look, in Otto Preminger's
1962 Washington drama "Advise and Consent." No, this wasn't one of the locations used in that
superb black and white film...but as I rediscovered this image, I rather wish it had been.

The distinctive Washington DC hotel along 16th Street faces across Lafayette Park to the White House.

The photo was taken on a spring night on Kodak TMX-100 film in my Canon EOS-1 through a Tokina 20-35 mm lens.

"The Hay Adams" is part of an extensive portfolio of Washington scenes in classic black and white.

They are available in darkroom prints on fiber stock and in custom printed sets of Photo Note Cards.
