Gordon at...

...Pine Cone Point

After the service for John in Livingston and at the funeral feast in the Torphichen Inn with all his family, friends, relatives and lots of village inhabitants, i had lotts of nice chats till the pub closed. I took the Bus and train to Birnam/Dunkeld the next morning and arrived after three hours, just before noon. It was a nice reunion with Joanne and Gordon. At the next day Gordon and I took a short walk uphill to the Pine Cone Point in the Tay Forest Park, where also the Hermitage is situated. We had to stop often, because of my back problems, but we arrived at the top in the end. The view over the river Tay to the King´s Seat on the other side was fantastic.

Nach dem Gottesdienst für John in Livingston und beim Trauerfest im Torphichen Inn mit seiner ganzen Familie, Freunden, Verwandten und vielen Dorfbewohnern hatte ich viele nette Gespräche, bis der Pub schloss. Am nächsten Morgen fuhr ich mit Bus und Bahn nach Birnam/Dunkeld und kam nach drei Stunden, kurz vor Mittag, an. Es war ein schönes Wiedersehen mit Joanne und Gordon. Am nächsten Tag machten Gordon und ich einen kurzen Spaziergang bergauf zum Pine Cone Point im Tay Forest Park, wo sich auch die Hermitage befindet. Wegen meiner Rückenprobleme mussten wir oft anhalten, aber am Ende kamen wir oben an. Der Blick über den Fluss Tay bis zum Königssitz auf der anderen Seite war fantastisch.
