Hosta

Hosta (also known as Plantain Lily) is a plant with a striking foliage that is native to China, Japan, Korea and the Russian Far East.

It was introduced in European gardens in the mid 19th century and is nowadays widely cultivated as ornamental plant.

Hostas are eaten by deer, rabbits, voles, slugs and snails but are toxic to dogs, cats and horses.
