In Juxtaposition Puff Daddy
It's fun to walk the streets and find cool images of all sorts. Juxtapositions are special. Taking two symbolic Icons. Where the common denominator is found is in the the metaphor ,"up in smoke". Marilyn Monroe is not around any more, and the he Marlboro Man is a figure used in tobacco advertising campaign for he 'Marlboro Man' was a character created by Marlboro to promote their cigarettes between 1954 and 1999, Wayne McClaren and David McClean were both hired as actors, and forced to smoke up to five packs of cigarettes a day for shoots. It's no surprise after only ten years of resigning as the character, both had died. McClean's family sued Philip Morris, the company owning Marlboro, after his death claiming they held responsibility.
The bond is that here the two images decay on on moss between the cracks of brick and concrete on forgotten streets of Manhattan for passer -bye's to toy with the connection of their torment.

just "toying with the connection of their torment", while still being infuriated by the "don't be a maybe" campaign launched by marlboro over here, obviously aimed at the young. "maybe never made history"? it did, too: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanislav_Petrov maybe makes you think twice, trust your doubt and take action. maybe you just shouldn't believe that stupid add! sorry, needed to get that out of my system. ; )) great wayside discovery, photo and juxtaposition of kindred souls and fates, glenn! greetings, sabine.

Such a powerful image, very well thought out and created in such a way that anyone seeing this will not only see the work of art it is but take to heart the moral of the story. I really like the use of the halftones, as it gives the image the look of the artists in the 50-60's.BRYAN CRUTE 04/01/2013 23:37
