Metallic Jungle

In the Amana Colonies, Iowa, USA., there is one village named Homestead, that features the art work of metal sculptures, The artists work mainly in copper or brass sculpting animals, flowers, insects and fantasy pieces. In this image are bits and pieces of several sculptures from that art gallery. The bright, glossy hues are created by applying car paints to the metals
.
I've been away from the computer quite a bit lately as we are updating our home.

quite an original idea to develop such fleeting worlds like the blooming jungle and such ethereal creatures like the hummingbird from such tough and matter-of-fact materials as copper and brass! love the humorous detail of the authentic little plant signs they attached to their "replicas" ; )! greetings, sabine. p.s.: just read up on the amana colonies – hadn't ever heard of them! – very interesting!
