Milking Of The Rubber Tree

Thailand is the world's largest producer of natural rubber. And this is how the "harvest" takes place: At night or in the very early hours of the morning, the bark of the rubber tree is scarified, the valuable latex escapes and flows in trickles into the containers provided. This process takes about 3 hours and is repeated once or twice a week. After the trickle has dried up, the containers are collected.
