Monemvasia 3
Another panoramic view of Monemvasia rock taken from the top of the rock where are the remnants of the old Byzantine St Sophia church. Down, towards the shore one can see the ruins of St George church,the roof of a Muslim mosque , couple of other churches and also other medieval ruins among the houses. The surounding wall can also be seen.
(6x4,5 Velvia slide with a Mamiya 645 camera.The positive was later scanned.)

A superb view out over this ancient place with the expanse of water and mountains beyond. It is amazing how the new and old integrate........and so many diffeent places od worship sitting together.:))
