Moor Frog

The Moor Frog is a small amphibian, inhabiting an area stretching from Belgium in the west over central Europe to Siberia in the east.

This frog, with its typical large dark ear spot, prefers to live in areas untouched by humans, such as tundra, steppe and swamps.

I spotted this specimen in the swamps of ‘Hohes Venn’, the greatest and oldest National Park of Belgium and the most unique nature biotope in the land.
It was quite a hell of a job to shoot him in the middle of the dangerous sucking swamp, but I got him !

Dutch name : Heikikker
German name : Moorfrosch
Latin name : Rana arvalis
