QueensScape No.4

I must say, I love this view and never tire of experiencing or shooting it,
as it encompasses so much of what I love about New York...

The Subway system, of course, with its complex and fascinating infrastructure...

The way this remarkable system serves as iron and steel arteries through all of the unique
neighborhoods through which it passes (*), especially when on elevated structures...

And, those NYC-iconic rooftop water tanks.

The view is from the upper level of a favorite Subway spot, the Queensboro Plaza Station in Long Island City,
which serves both the Flushing Line 7 Trains and the Astoria Line B-Division trains of the N and W lines.

On the elevated structure an Astoria-bound N (or W) train has just left QBP as it runs above the
L-I-C streetscape, with one of those great water tanks above its consist of ten shiny R-160 railcars.

From a Day-on-the-Subway shoot in December with fellow
F-C photog and Subway-loving friend Hans-Gerd Hacker.
Do check out his many fine Subway-captures.

an exciting view from the train with so much to see .. black and white
perfect as it enhances all the lines and structures, and colour does
not detract … how I would love to spend some time in this great city !!!
    warm regards,
    Adele

Here You present us a fine B&W shot from our Favorite-Subway-Spot QBP.
In Your shot we see all the fine things like the Train, the steel structures, the water tank and also tracks and signal...and I treasure Your description...so I can learn a lot of Subway History.
    Best Regards HG
