Taxiing to Ramp - B-17 "Aluminum Overcast"

After a busy autumn day of flying passengers, hosting visitors, and posing for photos
by enthusiastic admirers, this beautifully restored Boeing returns to the ramp.

In this tighter telephoto view, the emphasis is on her two inboard radial engines, the
plexiglass bombardier's bubble and the chin turret with its two 50mm machine guns.
The late day light also catches her belly turret.

This late model B-17 'G' was built after the war ended in Europe, but the
"Flying Fortress" was instrumental in the Allied victory in the Second World War.
