THE WEAVER
This photo was taken in Jun Village, not far from Lak lake. This man belongs to the M’nong hilltribe in Vietnam. They are best known for their skill in hunting elephants and domesticating them for use in war, for transport and for their ivory. Today the elephants are used for transporting tourists on short tours of the Lak Lake area.
I visited this man in his traditional “long house” , a house built on stilts. This visit was possible thanks to my friend Loc Mai (a fellow photographer on this site).
M’nong craftsmen are reknown for their basketry, printing textiles and copper, tin and silver jewellery worn by both sexes.
f7.1 1/30th sec zoom at 70mm natural light
The room was dark and the light came from the opened door. I had to use the camera set on ISO1600 which explains the grain in the photo.

This is a super shot - skin tones are spot on and great focus in low light - The grain does not impact on to his face too much so its fine.Super
