War and Peace

On the quiet lima street, this misty day. A not so perfect sound from a string instrument filled the morning mist. Leaving my coffee and cream I follow and witness the blind fiddler with his sleeping son that has been sent to dream land by his gentile father with cup between his knees.

A military man with orders in his hand marches by, neck straight, chin up and hat properly placed. He is the future of this proud country. He knows military force will make him a better an. Yet the gentile blind man is the true mother of the Peruvian culture. Just playing as the times past. In the end it will be the sound of his fiddle filling the air of the Andes saying, "I told you so".

Very nice shot although, by the uniform he is wearing, he is a police officer.

I think that people want peace so much that one of these days government had better get out of their way and let them have it.

Today in Eisenach, in the pedestrian street, was a group that, I suspect from Chile or Peru came. The music was the one who approached me. A camera I had unfortunately not present - regrettable as it is sometimes.

Your pics with the blind violinist touched me and reminded that these people still have a hard fate. You go out of the country, make music, are not always loved - people passing by who spoke disparagingly - all they want but to feed their families in the first place. I like the music of the Andean people. She reminds me of Victor Jarra, among others.

The paradoxical contrast that strongly suggests - may be a few years later sleeping son of violinist will use the military uniform too. And he will goes the same street, and his face will be ice cold when he will passing by other blind fiddler:-(
All might happen in that strange world;-)
    Next one great page, Glenn!
